3M Xtract™ Cubitron™ II Film disk Hookit 775L

The 3M Xtract™ Cubitron™ Film Disc 775L features a patented 3M™ Multihole perforation that provides better dust collection during finishing. Part of the 3M Xtract™ Series, the optimum in dust removal and performance. Our innovative multihole perforation provides better dust collection than products with five or six holes – improving removal and significantly increasing tool life. This design eliminates the need to align it with the holes in the sanding disc, making disc changes quick, easy and convenient. The disc features 3M’s precision-molded ceramic grain, a revolutionary advancement in abrasive technology. The triangular-shaped ceramic mineral is designed to cut through the substrate rather than gouging or “plowing” it like conventional abrasives. As a result, the disc has twice the stock removal rate and up to six times the tool life of commercial discs. The film backing provides excellent tear resistance and flexibility, allowing for an even and consistent finish on a variety of substrates.

These discs are ideal for many different applications where material removal is the primary concern. They are particularly well suited for use on a wide range of substrates, especially metals, composites, gel coatings and whitewood. The film backing provides better tear resistance than paper discs for added durability and edge retention. Best results can be achieved when used with 3M Xtract™ random orbital sanders. With an open spread, there is more space between the abrasive grits, so dust and other sanding particles are more easily removed instead of clogging the cutting edge of the grits. The dust-repellent coating allows the disc to sand softwoods, paints and other materials longer, which would otherwise clog the disc and affect sanding ability. All of this ensures higher productivity and lower material consumption. When dust cannot clog the cutting edge of the abrasives, sandpaper discs provide stronger and faster stock removal. The patented multihole hole design on our 3M Xtract products removes dust faster than products with five or six holes. This hole design does not need to be aligned with the holes in the sanding disc. This allows for quick and easy disc changes. Use this disc in conjunction with a 3M Xtract backing pad and a random orbital sander with dust extraction (both sold separately) to ensure optimal dust extraction.
